Good ? Bad ? Who knows ?

This is the story of a King who loved to hunt. One day as he was indulging in his favourite hobby, he cut his finger. The doctor in his entourage was called over to take care of the King’s finger. After putting a bandage on it. The king asked him if his finger will be fine. The doctor answered by saying : “Good ? Bad ? Who knows?

The King was still absorbed by the hunt and did not pay much attention to the words of this eccentric doctor. Upon his return to the castle however, he noticed that his finger was inflamed. The doctor once again was called over. This time, he added an ointment to relieve the swollen finger. The King asked for a second time if his finger will be ok. The doctor answered the exact same words as the first time : Good ? Bad ? Who knows ?

Unfortunately the finger quickly got worst and it needed amputation. The King was infuriated and out of his anger, he had the doctor thrown in prison. While seeing him in jail. The King asked the doctor : “How do you feel about being in jail ? You stupid man!” The doctor gave the exact same answer for the third time :
“Good ? Bad ? Who knows ?” After that the King left and realised that the doctor might actually be crazy.

After the amputation was done and the King was fully healed, he resumed his hunting. While on the hunting ground, the King got lost chasing after a wild animal. He then stumbled about an indigenous tribe who captured him.

The tribe members decided to offer the King as a sacrifice to their gods. The time of the ceremony had come. The crowd was getting louder and louder. The King was facing his impending doom but at the last minute, the shaman screamed :

“Stop!”He pointed out to the king’s hand and said : “This man is not perfect he is missing a finger”. As a result he was released and sent on his way back to his castle.

The King realising the errors of his ways and the profound wisdom of the doctor, ran towards the jail in order to free him. The King apologised profusely and told him that throwing the doctor in jail was a bad thing. To that the doctor said : “A bad thing ? What do you mean ? It was a very good thing. If not for that event, I would have been with you on the hunting trip and they would captured me along with you... And I have all ten of my fingers..

So you see guys often times in life, we get caught in the emotions, the anger, the frustration, the sadness, the depression without realising that It might and it often is a blessing in disguise.
