What’s your first response when someone praises you or extolls your virtues. Do you respond by saying. Or it’s nothing. It’s nothing special. I don’t deserve it. Blablabla.

But you did something wrong. You are supposed to feel guilty. Feel like shit about it. Be chastised for it. You should feel ashamed of your wrongdoings. Crawl back to your hole.

Is it me ? Or there is a double standard in our western society. We should be individuals when it comes to consumption, guilt and blame but if we don’t go we are supposed to not accept this.

Because obviously we are much badder than we are good. Now here’s a question. If we are never allowed to feel good about ourselves when we do good but we are supposed to feel at our worst when we do something wrong. Are we supposed to become better people if there is no incentive.

There is a difference between being conceited, arrogant and being proud of one’s wholesome deed yet we don’t linger there much. The hero always sacrifice himself for others right ?

What is that so ? Have you ever thought about it ? Is his life worth less than the lives of others ? Is the hero self-conscious of himself ? Do we so little values when it comes to ourselves. We are asked to give love unconditionally to others but what about ourselves ?

So I am saying you are incapable of really loving others if you apply it to yourself. Or let me more optimistic about it. If you can love someone unconditionally perhaps you can also do it for yourself.

Accept the praise. Leave the bad behind. Nurture the good to make it grow. The bad is in the past. Don’t let it haunt. Make amends. Don’t self- flagellate. Learn to acknowledge the good you have done for those moment will help you tremendously if you are feeling like shit.

Accept love, praise will not make big-headed if will only make you big-hearted.
